Walshestown girl guides celebrate "World Thinking Day"

22nd Feb 2023

Thank you to Niamh Clinton, Kelly MacMahon and Abbie Wogan, who have explained the Girl Guides, "World Thinking Day" below.

World Thinking Day is celebrated on the 22nd of February every year, a day that Girl Guides and Girl Scouts speak out about issues that affect young girls and women. They also  talk about Climate Change. This year's theme is Our Planet, Our Peaceful Planet . Some units may go on a walk to celebrate World Thinking Day, or might donate some money to charity. It is also a day celebrating International Friendship

We celebrate World Thinking Day by going on a walk with our unit, donating money to charity or promoting World Thinking Day to other people. We wore our uniforms today to promote this in school.

World Thinking Day Is Celebrated on the 22nd of February as this was the founder of Girl Guides’ ' Lord Baden Powell's Birthday.

Walking The World Challenge starts on World Thinking Day and ends on Earth Day. For the challenge you walk with your unit and track your steps and distance. The aim is to get as many steps as possible.
