On The Farm
In April we worked on the theme of 'The Farm'. This has been one of our favourite themes as we all love animals in our class! Kay made some videos of her chickens at home laying eggs which helped us understand the life cycle of a chick. We read the story 'Rosie's Walk' and worked on sequencing the storyline by cutting out the pictures and sticking them down. We read lots of books relating to the farm and even read through a farm calendar, but our favourite book was the one that made all the animal sounds when you pressed the buttons. We were really good at making our farm jigsaw by the end of the month and some of us were even matching farm vocabulary to pictures, which is amazing! We also learned 'Baa Baa Blacksheep' and worked on sequencing pictures from the rhyme. This month we also learned about the different homes of the farm animals and enjoyed putting the animals where they live on our farm picture. But the absolute best fun of all in our class in April was making our farm art. We rolled lots of different sized tractors through different coloured paint to leave tyre tracks all along a big long ream of paper. We also made fluffy paper plate sheep using cotton wool and pigs having a muddy bath using sensory materials. Learning about the farm was the best!🧑🌾🐮🐔
