Martin Luther King Jr
1st Feb 2024
Martin Luther King Jr was a civil rights leader who made a stand against inequality and segregation that was normalised in American society through organising nonviolent protests and speaking publicly.
We celebrated the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Junior in class. We engaged in research projects, completed artwork and identified our own dreams. We listened to his most famous speech 'I Have a Dream' orated at the Lincoln memorial in Washington DC in 1963. Let us never forget the powerful message he relayed in this famous speech:
'I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character'. -Martin Luther King
