Growing Plants
29th Feb 2024
In February, since spring has arrived, we decided to plant different seeds to see how they grow. We looked at the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' on our IWB, and then planted a bean seed. We planted one in soil and also put one into a zip lock bag with wet cotton wool. The zip lock bag is stuck on our window. We are investigating which one grows the quickest. Today, we checked them and they have sprouted a root!
We also spread cress seeds onto wet cotton wool that we made into the shape of the initial letter of our name. It's growing quickly and we are excellent gardeners, giving the seeds (and ourselves 😉) a good watering with the spray bottle. Some of us really enjoy the feeling of the water spray on our face.
We have been learning about the parts of a flower and use our flower builder to help us with this. Inspired by the lovely spring flowers we see on our wellie walk, we printed some using paint on the bottom of different sized bottles. 🌼🌻
