Celebrating our Heritage- Bread Making

We were delighted to welcome Lucy Forde from Heritage Ireland, who led an interactive workshop on the history of milling in Ireland. Lucy introduced the children to the origins of the iconic Irish Brown Bread, guiding them through an exploration of raw cereals and teaching them to grind grains by hand with traditional tools. Each class learned about historical diets and food preparation techniques and even had a chance to bake a couple of loaves themselves! The fresh bread was then enjoyed by each class. Well done to everyone involved!
