New calming experiences in our classrooms.

8th Feb 2024

Over the last few weeks we have started music lessons with Emma, one of our SNA's who has worked for many years teaching fiddle to children. Emma is introducing us to many different classroom instruments and we have also been practicing body percussion. Our favourite part is when we move shimmering fabric along to songs like 'Carnival of the Animals'.

We made sensory bottles in class to represent rain, clouds, the sun and snow. We used pompoms, glitter, Orbee beads, cotton wool, water and glue. We love to shake these along to our weather song each morning. This week, we also used foam to make some lovely valentine hearts. We put paint in the foam and the best part was mixing it all together with our hands. We really LOVE sensory messy play:)

This week we have also started sound bath therapy. We were all so inquisitive about the vibrations that Olga made with the sound bath bowls. She massaged our arms and legs with the vibrating bowls which helped us relax our bodies and minds:) We can't wait for our next session.
